Full-sized carry-on bags brought to the gate: Full-sized carry-on bags are not allowed except for MileagePlus Premier members, primary cardmembers of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card, and Star Alliance™ Gold members. Must be a primary cardmember of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card at time of check-in. MileagePlus Premier members or Star Alliance Gold members must be of qualifying status at the time of check-in to receive carry-on benefit. Others may be subject to the applicable checked bag fee plus a $25 gate handling service charge if they bring a full-sized carry-on bag to the gate. Payment by credit card only.
Checked baggage: Our checked baggage policies remain the same with these fares, and baggage benefits still apply for MileagePlus Premier members and primary cardmembers of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card. - Seat selection: Seats are assigned prior to boarding. Advance seat assignments may be available for purchase during booking and up until check-in opens. You will be eligible to purchase Economy Plus® seating, but only at check-in. MileagePlus members, including Premier® members, cannot use complimentary, earned or mileage upgrades or Economy Plus subscription benefits. With standard Economy, customers traveling together can choose seats together if open seats are available. If you're traveling with a child under 12, we have new tools that make it easier for them to sit next to a family member for free.
- Changing your flight: Fares are nonrefundable except as permitted by our 24-hour flexible booking policy. After 24 hours, Basic Economy tickets may be eligible for travel credit when canceled, less a Basic Economy cancellation charge starting at $99 for a roundtrip itinerary. Same-day standby is permitted.
- Priority boarding: Premier members, companions traveling on the same reservation and primary cardmembers of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card will still receive their priority boarding privileges. Other Basic Economy customers may be in the last boarding group.
- MileagePlus member benefits and earnings: MileagePlus members will earn Premier qualifying points but will not be eligible to accrue Premier qualifying flights. They will still earn award miles based on the fare and their MileagePlus status, lifetime miles and toward the four-flights minimum for Premier status.
